Oak Park is a planned community located in southeast Ventura County, less than thirty miles from Los Angeles. Land developer Louis Boyar teamed up with his brother Mark to form the Metropolitan Development Corporation (MDC). They originally planned communities in the San Fernando Valley.
While MDC was working in the San Fernando area, two radio personalities purchased a ranch in Ventura County. Jim and Marian Jordan, from the Fibber McGee and Molly radio show, built their ranch home in the middle of the 2,600 acres they’d acquired. In 1970, a horrible brush fire destroyed the home. MDC acquired the Jordan ranch and developed Oak Park. The new planned community attracted hundreds of buyers from the San Fernando Valley.
Oak Park is surrounded by other cities that are also attractive for people looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles:
• Agoura Hills,
• Simi Valley, and
• Thousand Oaks.
There are seven parks within Oak Park. This draws many growing families to the area. Oak Park movers can assist anyone looking for moving quotes. Oak Canyon Community Park has a lake, waterfall, creek, as well as a Community Center and garden area.
Three shopping centers provide homes to businesses and offices. Office moving information is available from each center. Supermarkets, retail stores, restaurants, and other services can be found in these shopping centers.
For a long time, Oak Park shared a zip code that also serviced Agoura Hills, which is in Los Angeles County. This caused many problems, including affecting insurances rates and taxes, since Oak Park is in Ventura County. In 1999 Oak Park was granted its own zip code: 91377.
Whatever the zip code, Oak Park moving companies can find you and also help you determine relocation costs if you, too, want to have an Oak Park zip code.
