Here are some very important general rules to consider as you begin packing your stuff for moving.
Pack wisely. Never over-pack boxes as you will run the risk of the entire box splitting open and damaging your belongings. In the same way, try not to under-pack them as this will make it hard for the movers to stack them.
Lighter items may be placed together in bigger boxes.
Choose your boxes wisely. Used boxes from grocery stores may be fine for items that are not fragile. But for delicate items, make sure to use something more durable.
Secure the bottom of each box with packing paper before filling. Depending on the contents, make sure to use packing materials as layers to cushion the items and keep them steady. Wrap the items in bubble wrap or packing paper to make sure they don’t break.
Properly seal each box before loading. Make sure you label them depending on their content, e.g., ‘Fragile’, ‘Do not stack’, etc.
