Milpitas is located in Santa Clara County in California. It’s nestled between Fremont, which is north of the city, and San Jose, which is to the south.
Two major interstate freeways run through the city: I-680 and I-880. Also, State Route 237 and a county expressway run through town. There’s a light rail station, also. This makes it easy to access.
Milpitas is a part of the Silicon Valley. Lots of technology companies and other businesses are located here. Milpitas moving companies are eager to provide office moving information and relocation costs. Many corporations have their headquarters in the city, including:
• Adaptec,
• LSI Logic, and
• SanDisk.
In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, Milpitas was a popular rest stop, serving travelers who journeyed the Oakland-San Jose Highway. Many of them enjoyed beer and wine at Smith’s Corners, a saloon built in 1895. The saloon was converted into a restaurant in 2001.
Construction of an assembly plant for Ford Motor Company, in 1955, sparked extensive residential and retail development. The auto plant was closed in 1984, and in 1994 the factory was replaced by the largest enclosed shopping mall in Northern California, the Great Mall of the Bay Area.
Milpitas enjoys a Mediterranean climate all year. Winters are typically cool and rainy, but snow is very rare. Summer is dry and warm, but not hot. Milpitas movers can help new home owners spend more time in the great weather, rather than on gathering moving quotes.
In the Milpitas foothills, there are two golf courses. Just outside of Milpitas is the largest county regional park, which offers hang gliding and paragliding. Milpitas has one of the highest ratios of residents to park land in the San Francisco Bay area.
While Milpitas is no longer a small rural town, it has many open spaces as well as places for people to live, work, and shop.
